PCM SOFTWARE NOTICE:
Drug Search Error
Dear
PCM Client,
The NewCrop
service provides Drug Searches, Rx Eligibility,
Formulary, and RX History retrieval. Occasionally,
the connection to NewCrop is lost, which
may be due to an internet connection,
a necessary NewCrop emergency reboot,
system maintenance, etc. If this happens,
there is nothing Prime Clinical can do
to restore the connection. If a connection
to NewCrop is not found, you will see
a screen similar to the one shown below:
Each
time a user logs into PCM, the system
checks for connectivity to
NewCrop. If a connection is not found,
PCM is programmed to automatically switch
to using DIT Drug Search, which is another
drug database (without Eligibility, Formulary,
and Rx History, etc.).
Note: If you are already logged-in to PCM
and the NewCrop
connection is lost, the switch to DIT will
not happen automatically. You have to
log off PCM and log back in.
PCM also has an option to manually disable
NewCrop search and use DIT Drug Search,
which does not require an internet connection.
To manually disable NewCrop services, go
to Setup Misc. User Default,
Prescription tab, and check the option
"Skip Rx Eligibility, Formulary Checks
and Med History Retrieval". Remember
to un-check the option again to re-enable
NewCrop services later.
