Adding Facility Codes to Support Telehealth

 

Are your FACILITY CODES up-to-date for new or expanded telehealth services your practice began providing during the COVID19 pandemic? Do you need to add a new facility code for the new and/or modified Place of Service (POS) codes for telehealth services?

 

1. Go to Utility --► Facility --► Add.

 

2. Complete the following fields: (if appropriate)

a. <Facility Code>: Enter user-define code for the facility.

b. <Place of Service>: Select the appropriate POS code from the drop-down to print in CMS1500 Box 24B or submit in electronic equivalent.

c. <Name>, <Address>, <Zip Code>, <City>, and <State> print in CMS1500 Box 24B or submit in electronic equivalent.

d. <Tax ID>

e. <Type>: Enter '77.'

f. <NPI>: Enter the Facility NPI to print in CMS1500 Box 32a or submit in electronic equivalent.

g. <Access To appointment>: Select 'Y' to allow this code to be used as an appointment facility.

h. <Code Retire>: Select 'N' to allow charge posting for this facility code.

 

3. Click the [Add] button to save the new facility code.

New/Modifications to the Place of Service (POS) Codes for Telehealth

 

Suppliers billing Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs) for telehealth services provided to Medicare patients, please note the POS Workgroup is revising the description of POS code 02 and creating a new POS code 10 to meet the overall industry needs, as shown below. Get the details.

 

1. POS 02: Telehealth Provided Other than in Patient's Home

2. POS 10: Telehealth Provided in Patient's Home
