Procedure
ICD9 Check
This option is used to issue a warning message when a procedure is in the process of being posted along with a diagnosis under the following conditions:
• The Utility--►Procedure --►Procedure <ICD10 Check> field has a 'Y' entered.
• The Utility --►Diagnosis entered and attached through RDX when the posting Charges screen is not attached to this procedure in the ICD9 Check listings.
1. To add an ICD9 Check for a procedure in Intellect, go to Utility --►Procedure --►ICD9 Check --►Add:
The Add PRD1 screen opens. For example:
2. CMD
2.1 This field accepts 'A' to add, 'M' to modify, 'D' to delete, or [ESC] to quit or clear.
3. CPT Code
3.1 The focus starts here.
3.2 Type the Utility --►Procedure --►Procedure <Panel Code> for the procedure to associate with the diagnoses.
3.3 The field is mandatory and must be completed. If left blank, an error message displays:
Press the [OK] button to return the focus to the <CPT Code> field.
3.4 Enter the CPT, OR type up to 6 characters of the <Panel Code> and press the [F2] key to display the Searching screen. To select the code from the list, either highlight the record and press the [Enter] key, OR double-click on the record. Alternately, after clearing the field, press the [F2] key twice to view the entire list of codes. 4. ICD9 Code
4.1 Enter the Utility --►Diagnosis <Diagnosis Code>, or type up to 6 characters of the description and press the [F2] key to display the Searching screen. To select the code from the list, either highlight the record and press the [Enter] key, OR double-click on the record. Alternately, after clearing the field, press the [F2] key twice to view the entire list of codes. During the process of posting a procedure with an unrelated diagnosis already entered and the RDX field attached to a procedure, where Utility --►Procedure--►Procedure <ICD10 Check> = 'Y' for that procedure:
An error message appears:
This is a 'soft error,' meaning the user may click [Ok] and continue posting.
