As of PCM version 5.5.1218 and Intellect version 14.07.17, changes to the Body Parts table have been made to allow editing of some fields. The Body Parts table is now a system table in PCM.
Four SNOMED codes to be used as clinical findings have been added to the Allergy Type combo-box.
Drug Data and FANDC update are included with the latest update.
The ability to enter more than one race for the patient has been added. The Preventive Services Guidelines take into consideration a second race code, if any. For the Language, you can now choose “Declined to Specify” and for the Race and Ethnicity you can now choose “Unknown-Declined”. These were added to meet Meaningful Use Stage 2, Core Measure 3 Record Demographics.
When using UpToDate search for updating the Meaningful Use Table with Educational Material Provided, the search will use the patient’s age to search for information.
This satisfies part of the Meaningful Use 2, Core Measure 6 Clinical Decision Support of enabling interventions based on data from at least two categories; i.e., by combining the patient’s problem list and demographic data.
For example:
For a 22 year old, when using UpToDate for searching on the patient’s diagnosis, the search page results for the patients diagnosis defaults to Adult.
For a 9 year old, when using UpToDate for searching on the patient’s diagnosis, the search page results for the patients diagnosis defaults to Pediatric.
If the DOB/age is not specified, the search will show information for All Topics, Adult, and Pediatric.
Also, the
UpToDate Search can now be accessed by clicking on the from each of
the Panes;i.e., Allergies, Diagnoses, Procedures, and Medications.
The sent log for MS Fax will now show faxes for the last 30 days, and for Metrofax it will show the last 500 faxes sent.
For Meaningful Use 2, CM 16 Immunization Registries Data Submission, in the Clinic Setup Definitions there is a new tab called “Immun. Registry”. Each practice needs to logon and enter or reset these values prior to exporting to CAIR. For help in entering this information, contact support@primeclinical.com
After entering vaccine information, if the Immunization Registry data is missing from the Clinic Setup Definitions, the following message will come up:
For Meaningful Use 2, CM 16 Immunization Registries Data Submission, there is a new field Immunization Protection Indicator/Date. If this is checked, it means that the parent/patient does not consent to have their immunization data shared with the Immunization Registries. The date indicates when the protection started. Immunization Data will not be sent to CAIR.
For part of the Meaningful Use 2, CM6 Clinical Decision Support measure related to Drug Alerts, if a user does not have the privilege Drug Interactions enabled, then they will not be able to disable or adjust the following options:
Don’t Prompt for rx Override Warnings when warnings exist
When Override Warnings exist, only prompt on Red and not Yellow
Allow T user to Override Drug Interactions for P user
In the options screen, it will appear as if the user can click on the checkbox, but when the mouse moves over the option check box, it will get disabled.
On the Rx form, the Interactions Checked option will be grayed out as well.
